I went from a high school standout with D1 dreams, to bouncing between four colleges, to finally signing a pro contract.
My journey wasn’t clean. It wasn’t easy. But it was real.
I wasn’t the kid who got a D1 offer handed to him. I was the kid who built cages in the backyard. Took reps before and after school. Lived, breathed, and obsessed over the game.
I wasn’t just dreaming of playing in college I was doing everything I possibly could to make it happen.
I made varsity early. Built cages in my backyard. Took thousands of reps on my own. Trained before school. Trained after practice.
I heard from big-time D1 programs. Got my hopes up.
But the offers never came and I could understand it.
I worked harder than anyone I knew. I had the talent. I had the numbers. I had the hype.
But I didn’t have a system. I didn’t have structure. I didn’t have guidance for any of my catching development.
So instead of signing to a big school like I dreamed, I bounced between four colleges, JUCOs, NAIA schools — clawing my way to stay in the game.
It was embarrassing. Confusing. And honestly, lonely.
There were nights I drove home from games in tears, wondering if it was over and if I’d wasted my shot, if all the effort had meant nothing.
But I didn’t quit. And eventually, I made it. I played pro ball. I trained with MLB guys. I got an opportunity catching bullpens for the Texas Rangers.
And now? I coach high school catchers like you, players with real talent, who need more than just another drill or one-hour lesson.
Because getting to college is just the beginning.
My mission is to make sure you have the skills to get there, the structure to stand out, and the support to thrive once you arrive on campus
Backstop Built isn’t just about getting you an offer.
It’s about making sure wherever you sign, you show up ready to lead, perform, and actually play with the right skills behind the dish.
The truth is: I wasn’t lacking talent or effort.
I was lacking structure.
I was guessing everyday, guessing what drills actually mattered, guessing how to fix my mechanics, guessing what college coaches were really looking for.
And that guesswork, even with all the hard work, cost me years.
I signed to a junior college, thinking I’d dominate and bounce to a big D1 after one year. But instead, I bounced between four colleges in five years.
JUCOs, NAIA programs, midseason transfers, injuries, disappointments — I lived every twist and turn a player could face.
There were seasons where I started every game, racked up awards, and helped my team make history.
And there were seasons where I rode the bench, questioned everything, and drove home in silence, wondering if my dream was dead.
Because just like me, most catchers are stuck with the same three “solutions” none of which produce real results:
❌ Group reps with no personalized feedback
❌ Random drills copied from social media
❌ One hour of coaching a week then six days of guessing
Catching is one of the most demanding positions in all of sports.
Yet most catchers are left without consistent coaching, accountability, or a real plan.
And when the pressure rises, guesswork always shows.
Eventually, after years of grinding, I got a call from the Texas Rangers to work as a bullpen catcher — and that changed everything.
Being around professional players and elite coaches helped me realize something that I now build my entire program around:
It’s not just about how hard you work, it’s about how smart you train.
It’s not about hype or potential. It’s about skill, structure, consistency, and becoming the kind of catcher coaches trust when the game’s on the line.
That’s when I finally developed the system I wish I had when I was younger — a system that gave me confidence in every part of my game, every single day.
And that’s exactly what Backstop Built is today.
Backstop Built isn’t for kids who are just trying to stay busy.
It’s for catchers who are chasing varsity, chasing scholarships, chasing college ball — but feel stuck.
It’s for the ones putting in the work, but not seeing the results.
The ones who are tired of watching other players sign while they keep waiting for their shot.
And it’s for the guys who know they belong at the next level — they just need someone to show them how to get there.
I created Backstop Built to be the program I never had — the structure, the accountability, the coaching, and the daily support I always needed but could never find.
Imagine stepping behind the plate with...
✅ A sub-2.0 pop time that makes coaches take notice
✅ Higher stolen-strike percentages that change counts and innings
✅ Near-perfect blocking that shuts down the running game
✅ Leadership presence that anchors your team
✅ Real trust from coaches now and at the next level
This isn’t just about mechanics.
It’s about becoming the catcher coaches rely on, teammates follow, and recruiters can’t ignore.
If you’re willing to work and you’re ready for real structure let’s see if Backstop Built is the right fit.
"I was disappointed it was remote… then it became the most effective training for Aiden”
"It’s been worth every penny watching him grow behind the plate"
“It was life changing. It elevated him to a whole new level of the game.”
“He finally had a true mentor for catching, not just another coach”
"Even though it’s remote, it felt like you were here training him in person"
“I know the Lord blessed us with your program for sure.”
“He was at the lowest I’ve ever seen… and I’m blown away by what six months can do.”

Does my parent need to be on the call?
Yes, if a parent or guardian is making the financial decision, they must be present on the call. If you’re an athlete investing in your own training, you do not need a parent. If your parent(s) cannot make the call, we’ll need to find a time that works for everyone.
Do you offer in-person training?
Backstop Built is a fully remote catching development program. All training, evaluations, and communication happen through our online platform, including personalized video feedback and direct access to Brock for ongoing support.
How much time does the program require?
The Backstop Built Catching Program is a 6-month commitment designed to fit into nearly any schedule. We focus on flexibility, so you don’t need crazy access to machines or specialized equipment. Most drills and progressions can be done at home, and the program requires 30-45 minutes per day, 6 days a week, with one rest or catch-up day. Our goal is to help athletes improve without disrupting their other commitments.
Can I do this program during the season?
Absolutely! The program focuses on mechanics and fundamentals, so it fits easily into your in-season routine. You can use me for in-game video analysis and feedback after each game to keep improving. Don't wait—being the best version of yourself behind the dish is a continuous journey, and consistency is key to a great season.
How is the program priced?
The Backstop Built program is designed to give you exceptional value. While traditional one-on-one coaching often offers limited sessions, we provide daily personalized support and training throughout the week, all at a comparable investment. This allows for much more frequent interaction and development, ensuring you're maximizing your growth with 10x the value.
Your work ethic isn’t the problem.
If you want clarity, structure, and real coaching...
this is your next step!
